wwThis Warrior Whey protein review explains what makes this product so unique and the best organic whey protein for muscle nourishment or weight loss.

I’m absolutely committed to giving my body only the purest foods possible. After years of learning about natural health, I know that feeding your body pure, organic raw ingredients is the best way to keep yourself in the best possible health. This is why, when I was searching for the best natural whey protein powder, I read all of the whey protein powder reviews I could find and tried many of them myself. When all was said and done, I found that Warrior Whey Protein Powder was the very best product available.

If you’re like me, you want to be in the best possible health. You want to get the most nutrition out of everything you eat, because you need the energy and strength to get through your very busy days. You want strong, lean muscles and a healthy body.

If you’re focused on weight loss, you want to feel great while you’re losing weight, not sluggish, hungry and weak. I knew I needed a good, natural whey protein powder to help nourish my body and make sure I got enough lean protein every day. Now that I’ve been using Warrior Whey Protein Powder for some time, I know I made the right decision and I’ll tell you all the reasons why.

What is Whey Protein?

The first thing I need to explain, in case you’re not familiar with it, is what whey protein is. Whey protein is made from raw milk. If you’ve ever made your own cheese, you know that whey is the liquid that’s left over after you separate out all of the milk solids. Whey is loaded with protein, and, when it’s kept as pure and unprocessed as possible and made from raw milk of pasture-raised cows, it’s also loaded with antioxidants and really important amino acids.

What Makes Warrior Whey Different from Other Brands

There are a number of things that make Warrior Whey Protein Powder so much better than other brands, even the more expensive ones:

Whey Concentrate vs. Isolate

Warrior Whey Protein PowderMost whey protein powders are made from protein isolate, which means that it goes through more processing and filtering. The manufacturers like to claim that this results in almost pure protein content, which they say makes it a better product. The problem is that the extra filtering and processing removes a good deal of the important immune factors from the whey protein. It also denatures the protein, breaking down the amino acids.

This makes the protein and amino acids less accessible (harder to absorb). That means you get less of what you want from the protein powder. One way to look at it is that it’s like eating a fresh orange versus drinking a glass of orange juice; you get more nutritional value in the orange because you get all that great fiber and don’t lose any of the vitamins and minerals. It’s always best to eat foods that are processed and changed as little as possible.

Warrior Whey is made from protein concentrate. It’s less filtered and less processed and has all of the important immune factors intact. In fact, Warrior Whey is the only brand that actually tests for the immune factors to ensure that your immune system is getting the biggest boost possible.

Completely Organic and Natural

Organic Warrior Whey is a completely organic product. It’s made from the raw milk of pasture-raised cows and is completely free of pesticides, hormones, antibiotics, GMOs, soy, gluten, fructose, and sugar alcohols. There are no artificial sweeteners, unlike other whey protein shake brands that use sucralose or other artificial sweeteners.

Other brands often contain pesticides or are made from the milk of cows that have been treated with hormones and antibiotics. Be careful; even organic products can contain hormones and antibiotics!

No unpleasant side effects

Some people experience some real discomfort when using other whey protein powders, such as bloating, gas or nausea. Because Warrior Whey is free of additives and the least processed whey powder, most people say they don’t have any of the side effects they’ve experienced before. One of the testimonials for Warrior Whey Protein Powder (taken from the DefenseNutrition website) says this:

“Like many, I have suffered from several negative side effects as a result of using store bought whey protein products. Most notable of these is the feeling of sickness after drinking them. Admittedly, I was very skeptical about Defense Nutrition because they promised to deliver amazing results. Since I began using Defense Nutrition Organic Warrior Whey I can say I have not suffered any feelings of sickness after drinking the protein.”

What I Really Like About Warrior Whey

I’ve been using Warrior Whey for quite a while now and there are quite a few things that I really like about it, besides all the things I’ve already mentioned:

  • It has a naturally sweet taste. I usually buy the plain version, although this whey protein shake does come in many flavors, like vanilla, chocolate and strawberry. I just prefer to flavor it myself. But if you taste the powder straight from a spoon, it has a very subtle, nice sweetness to it. Sometimes I add a little Stevia to my shakes, but usually it tastes sweet enough on its own.
  • It’s very smooth and creamy. A lot of the whey protein powders I tried had a grainy texture to them that made them hard to like. Let’s face it, no matter how nutritious something is, if you don’t really enjoy eating or drinking it, it won’t do you any good. Warrior Whey is really smooth and creamy and the texture of my shakes is every bit as good as an ice cream shake.

It’s amazing frozen. I like to make my whey protein shake the night before and then let it sit out while I’m getting ready in the morning. Then I just stir it up or blend it for just a second to smooth it. It makes it extra thick and rich. In fact, I sometimes just eat it frozen with a spoon. It makes it seem much more satisfying.

Whey Protein Shake

Like I said, I usually make protein shakes for my morning meal. I make quite a few different recipes, depending on what I have on hand and what I’m in the mood for. I have quite a few recipes in my article, How to Make a Protein Shake You’ll Love, if you’d like some ideas.

In addition to having a shake for breakfast, I also like to drink a Warrior Whey shake after a workout. Because of the bio-availability of the proteins, Warrior Whey is extremely good for muscle nourishment after exercise.

Marty Gallagher, a former coach for the Olympic Powerlifting team said this on the Warrior Whey page of the website: “Warrior Whey is groundbreaking in its nutritional appeal, taste and impact. For the purpose of muscular development, it has no equal.”

By the way, another favorite protein snack of mine is a handful of ChocoWhey Nuggets, which is another Defense Nutrition product made from the same whey. If you want to read more about those, you can read my ChocoWhey Nuggets review).

How Much Does Warrior Whey Cost?

Although it costs about the same as the brands sold in the health food stores, some people get a little anxious about the price of Warrior Whey Protein Powder. It runs about $29.95 per container, but that container yields 20 servings. If you break it down per serving, it’s only about $1.50 per shake and that’s actually a great deal. You can’t buy a ready-made shake or even a protein bar for that price, much less a meal.

Also, right now they’re doing a Buy 5, Get 1 Free deal, which makes it even more of a deal at $124.75.

Where Do You Buy It and What Do You Get?

Warrior Whey Protein Powder is from Defense Nutrition and I always Buy it directly from them. They have free shipping regardless of what you buy and that saves an awful lot of money.

Warrior WheyOrdering from the site is completely secure. They’re certified by Trustwave, so you don’t need to worry about giving them your credit or debit card information.

This picture, courtesy of the Defense Nutrition website, shows you what the product looks like.

This is the vanilla flavor, but they also have plain, chocolate, vanilla, strawberry and banana.

If you’re concerned about getting high-quality protein without a lot of extra fat, sugar and carbs, you really need to try Warrior Whey. If you also want to stick to the most organic, natural products, I really can’t recommend Warrior Whey Protein Powder highly enough.

I don’t think they’ll be doing the Buy 5, Get 1 FREE -Organic Warrior Whey promotion for very long, so order it today while you can still get in on the deal.

  1. Lucianne says:

Where can I buy strawberry flavor vía internet

    • Carol Newman says:

Hi Lucianne, If you go to http://www.defenseproteinpowder.com, you can find the whey protein concentrate in strawberry flavor. Also, you can read the facts about the quality of the product. Read for yourself that it is the best whey protein you can find. Thanks, Carol

  2. I totally agree with you about protein… but, be careful about protein of cow milk because milk is not the best way for us, especially when you get some hurt in joint (arm, legs, back, head, etc….) better if you find a 100% organic with soya milk …

    thank’s for your website

    • Carol Newman says:

Hi Eric, Keep in mind that too much soy is not good. Soy is an estrogen mimicker. However, soy when it is fermented, such as natto, has many health benefits. You are correct about organic, of course. Protein powder, from cows milk, needs to be of the highest quality which the one I recommend in the article is. Raw milk from naturally, pasture-raised cows is usually better tolerated by individuals who are sensitive to lactose, because it has the enzymes necessary to digest it. Thank you for your feedback.

      • Hi Carol,
thank’s for care about my reply (and so sorry for my poor english, I am …french !)
yes of course about soy but if I need to choose between soy and caw milk, I will not thinking too much and my choose will be evident !

I explain what I know, what I know very well after be paralysed for one year after a fall in rock climbing ascent …. so after the accident, I can’t moved for 11 months, after doctor and chirurgical (in France, but also, In Germany and Swiss…) say’s, “we are sorry”, we can’t do anything more for you and you wil stay in a chair for ever (I was 36 at the time)….
so, after a long personal story in my mind (want to kill myself bcs I can’t imagined that – my job is about extrem sport and stop it and all my passion was …) I decided to back in China for looking a real (not only bcs “fashion”) chinese doctor for check if they could improved myself (before already, I all time care with Chinses traditional medicine) but I was lucky because during my research about the specialist, a friend of me call me for tell me that a professor was actualy in France for teaching a litle bit about it !!!!!

So, I decided to meet him and we talk a lot about my accident, my bad year and he told me that my cas was very intersting for him and he want to try to do something

so, he stay here for 2 months and he care of me for 5 week’s !!!! (especialy directly on my back side with a special hand-treatment but not the subject here)
        and he explain me a lot about react of body and problem with food (ever I was very intersting by that since long time) and especialy about my problem and he explain me that “my” problem (but also for mos of people that he met in Europ !) is the milk, caw milk because as I already told you in the first message, al food with caw milk is no good for people, but for people with a problem of join (is right word?), back, knee, vertebral, shoulder….. need to stop milk (ever it organic ) because calcium come between vertebral and is used by our body as a glue and blocked 90 % of your move ;
So when you have any problem (and most after accident), it make you as a tree, and not “sweet”, it becomeing impossible and he show me that on each of my X Ray and scanner that we took during my treatment (because with his hand, he broken this calcium for make my vertebral free), it was realy amaizing but true .

Then of course, it’s a long story and I explain you shortly but it’s true and the end of story now: any food with cow milk (yogourt, milk, cheese – and believed me it was a big “problem” for me bcs I loved it so muchhhhhhhhhhhhh) is not good for body , especialy after it hurt !

And since this time …. I can moved again, climb again and do same as before my accident and on scanner, you can see my back without any “sticky-calcium” !

        • Carol Newman says:

Hello Eric, What a very interesting story. I am so happy to hear you are doing much better. You seem like the kind of individual who wants to learn all that he can. That being said, whey concentrate protein powder is used as an easy and convenient way to get our daily requirements for protein especially for those who work out hard or just want a quick protein smoothie for breakfast instead of a high-carbohydrate breakfast. Our bodies can produce non-essential amino acids from lesser amino acids, but we cannot produce the essentials ourselves; we must eat quality protein sources. Whey is a naturally occurring, essential protein that satisfies the body’s protein requirements – hence its popularity. It is not used as a calcium supplement. Without knowing all the details, it sounds as though your body was displacing calcium to your joints. There are many factors involved in that process. Nevertheless, since you are an information seeker, I would suggest you go to http://www.defenseproteinpowder.com and read all the information available about the product. Thanks again for your feedback. 🙂

  3. I absolutely love this product. I’ve never enjoyed a protein powder as much as Warrior Whey. When I start out my day with a protein shake I am full longer and I have energy to spare. Thanks Carol!

    • Carol Newman says:

Michelle, I am an avid morning smoothie consumer, so choosing the highest quality whey protein is of the utmost importance to me. I typically purchase five canisters at a time. I also have a great deal of energy and am satisfied until midday when I enjoy a morning smoothie.

  4. Ms. Newman,

I was wondering what your thoughts on Defense Whey for a professional athlete and is it a recommended product for high performance athletes?

    • Carol Newman says:

Hi Mack, Yes! Yes! Yes! Highly recommended this product for high performance athletes. Matter of fact, the only whey protein I recommend. Unless, it is just like this one. Here are some of the many reasons why: 1. Derived from pasture-raised cows to yield the purest non-denatured whey protein. 2. Made with ImmunoWhey® – It is tested for keeping all naturally occurring immune factors intact. 3. Contains all fragile amino acids and peptides. 4. High in muscle-building BCAA, and Leucine. 5. Highest protein utilization efficiency. 6. Highest biological value. 7. Fast nutrient delivery for faster muscle recovery. This is crucial, for all intensive purposes, of muscle nourishment, the capacity to digest and assimilate nutrients is of greatest importance. The quicker the protein is digested and assimilated, the faster it will nourish and repair the muscle during the critical period after exercise in which it is consumed. 8. Low gylcemic 9. Exceptional taste. It has a naturally, sweet whey taste. Here is a testimonial from Marty Gallagher, former Champion Olympic Power-lifting Team Coach and author of “The Purposeful Primitive,” ” Warrior Whey® is groundbreaking in its nutritional appeal, taste and impact. For the purpose of muscular development — it has NO equal.”

  5. Thank you Carol for the information that helps a lot.

  6. Speaking of France, I’m living here and am having trouble finding a high-quality whey protein as the one you describe above. If I order from the States, the shipping is cost prohibitive…also, France restricts alot of products. I’m not sure I can even order whey from the States. If you know someone, or know someone who knows someone, 🙂 living in France who can recommend a locally-available, high-quality whey, I’d be grateful. Thanks!!

    • Carol Newman says:

Hi Karen, I would be happy to try and help you find a person in France who can help you. Would you like for me to post this on my business Facebook page to possibly locate someone living in France to to hopefully assist in resolving your dilemma? Let me know. 🙂
