Morrocco methodFor men and women hair loss is not a desired trait. I, for one, can testify to that. Not too long ago, after finishing a stressful time completing my degree in Vascular Ultrasound and passing the required state registry in physics and practical application, I experienced what is known as post-traumatic stress.

One of the physical conditions I was stricken with was continued hair loss. Every day I was noticing abnormal amounts of hair while wet combing. My hair was becoming thinner and thinner. Along with taking a quality vitamin supplement, I decided to use a shampoo that would be healing to my hair and scalp. The shampoo I found is called the Morrocco Method 5 Elements Shampoo Pack.

The 5 Elements Shampoo Package includes a full-size bottle each of:

  • Pine Shale Shampoo, 8 oz
  • Apple Cider Vinegar Shampoo, 8 oz
  • Sea Essence Shampoo, 8 oz
  • Earth Essence Shampoo, 8 oz
  • Heavenly Chi Shampoo, 8 oz

The 5 Elements Shampoo Package is for all hair and scalp types. The enzymes of this anti-bacterial low-foaming formulation increase blood flow to the scalp, boosting the activity of the sebaceous glands to flush out debris, oil buildup and unhealthy bacteria. This system restores hair and scalp to a healthy pH. In addition, it is excellent for dry, spilt ends, grey or colored hair, dandruff, post-surgery, color safe, non-allergenic, non-toxic. It is also great as a facial/body wash and shaving cream.

I originally wrote a review on Morrocco Method shampoo. However, I failed to communicate a potential concern a user may have. Since I did not experience the same concern, I did not think to mention it. What the user may dislike about the product is the fact that it does not lather (low-foaming and no lather are significantly different descriptions). How I became aware of this being a problem for some users is, when I happened to tell a friend about the shampoo and the success I had in achieving healthier hair after using it for six months, my friend asked me to describe how the method worked.

I proceeded to tell her that a different shampoo is used each day, for a five-day rotation. Incidentally, I told her the shampoo does not lather at all. She expressed to me that she would not be able to handle no lather. Of course, I did have a solution for that.

I stated that the website that offers the Morrocco Method has other natural shampoos that do not contain harsh chemicals such as sodium lauryl sulfate, and, after using the daily Morrocco shampoo as instructed, she could follow with a lathering shampoo and still receive the benefits of the Morrocco Method. I actually started doing that myself. Matter of fact, it wasn’t a concern for me until she mentioned it. The power of suggestion got to me.

One more concern I want to mention, after styling my hair, even though it was fuller and shinier, it seemed a little bit weighted down. Now that I follow up with the lathering shampoo, my hair is no longer weighted down and continues to be shinier and fuller. The bottom line is, whether you need to follow up with a lathering shampoo or not, the results are dramatic. I actually have before and after pictures to show how healthy and shiny my hair is after using the Morrocco 5 Elements Shampoo Pack.

  1. HI I have been using the mm shampoos also and I did their zen detox. the first time I did the detox my hair was very dry and snarled a month later I used the detox again and my hair is very oily and weighted I am also losing so much more hair :( I have been struggling with hair falling for 10 years and decided to trry the mm shapoo line along with the detox. I am now considering going back to my reg shampoo as the oiliness is horrible but the excess falling of hair is devastatin. What “lathering shampoo did you use” after the mm shampoo wondering if that could help me thankyou Lisa

    • Carol Newman says:

Hi Lisa, I am so sorry about your hair. Believe me I feel for you. When my hair was falling out and became unhealthy, I literally freaked out. You cannot put a price on your hair. The bible says in 1 Corinthians 11:15, “But if a woman have long hair, it is a glory to her: for [her] hair is given her for a covering.” The only reason I decided to promote the product is because I had such a positive result. I would not have written a review otherwise. I would have kept searching for another product. I used the Morrocco Method for eight months or so. I finished all the bottles. Except for the weighted down hair, which I mentioned in my review, I only experienced good results. To overcome the weighted down hair, I would follow up, after the MM, with a shampoo and conditioner, called Dr. Rons Ultra-Pure Body Care, that I purchased from http://www.docsbestmultivitamin.com. They both contain herbs, nutrients and essential oils, along with MSM, which strengthens hair and restores elasticity. I still received the benefits of MM without weighing down my hair. Since you did not say how long you were using the products and if you have any other existing health issues, I am hard pressed to be able to answer thoroughly. How old are you? Do you have a thyroid disease and were you using the Zen detox at the same time as the MM? I have never used the Zen detox. Did you purchase them both together? The reason I ask about your thyroid is because, when my thyroid is not functioning properly, it will affect my hair, skin and nails. Many health problems internally will manifest themselves outwardly affecting the hair, skin and nails. If you are convinced that it is the shampoo, I would return them. I did keep my packaging, when I first started using the product, just in case I was not happy with it or the product was not working for me. Since finishing my MM, I am now trying another shampoo and conditioner from http://www.livehealthyfood.com called Intelligent Nutrients Harmonic. They are also raw, vegan, organic and gluten free. I like to rotate what I use. I have been using this product for about two weeks, and, so far, it is a winner. I do not have to follow up with anything else. I hope I have been able to help in some way. Have a blessed day!

I too have been using MM for about 8 months. Lots of issues along the way… I use nothing but MM products. Shampoo, conditioner, henna, detox and all the styling product. Was told that I had to or my hair would constantly be detoxing. Because I complained of greasy dirty feeling scalp. It’s been a love hate relationship for sure. I am in a hate phase right now. I have thin and fine hair(but I have always taken good care of it) and it is so flat and lifeless right now…and experiencing breakage(I honestly think it is from the henna). Their natural hairspray gives me NO holding power for my fine hair…Help! Thanks for sharing that you add a natural shampoo! I think I am going to have to go back to regular hair color. Does anyone have any other bits of advise????? Remember I have thin fine hair. Thanks!!!!! Elaine

    • Carol Newman says:

Hi Elaine, From what I have read about the MM Zen detox it is more aggressive than the MM 5 Elements Shampoo Pack. It sounds to me like you maybe overdoing it with all those products. Sometimes less is more. I, personally, do not use anything on my hair since using the MM, such as, mousse, gels or anti-frizz oils. Also, after using the MM, along with (www.docsbestmultiviamin.com) MSM Moisturizing Shampoo and Conditioner, I fortunately had a positive result. My hair grew back healthy and no more chemical build up. More importantly, I continue to alternate my shampoo and conditioner after using the MM method for about eight months. Currently, I am using Intelligent Nutrients Harmonic shampoo and conditioner from http://www.livehealthyfood.com. It also is a raw product. It has a slightly better lathering affect, and my hair doesn’t feel weighted down, so I do not have to use a follow up shampoo, such as the MSM. My hair is not weighted down with this brand. After I finish this product, I will probably try one of the other brands that is on the website (www.livehealthyfood.com) and then go back to the MM 5 Elements Shampoo Pack. Elaine, depending on many health issues, our hair can be affected too which happened to me when my thyroid was out a balance. I could have used the most expensive product available on the market, and it would not have done a thing for my hair. However, when it had to do with the health of my scalp, due to build up, the MM did wonders for me. I am so sorry about your hair, really I am, because I have been there too. If the MM products are not working for you, I would just return them. We women like our hair, and we want it to look nice and look healthy. Please keep me posted on your hair. Have a blessed day! :)

      • Hi Carol, well since I lasted replied I have been having much better results from mm products! I only use products from their line though. Shampoo, henna, moisturizers. The only issues I still struggle with are….I by nature have thin fine hair, it is healthy but is very fine. Their only hairspray has been discontinued and I don’t know what to replace it with. I am afraid the shampoos will quit working again if I add a chemical laden hairspray… Any suggestions???? Styling products and especially hairspray are critical for me because of the thin nature of my hair, I need that extra boost and hold. Help!!!!!!!!! :)))

        • Carol Newman says:

Hi Elaine, Thanks for the update. I am happy to hear your hair is doing much better. I also have fine hair. I have a nice amount, when it is healthy, and it is naturally curly, but, it can really look terrible, when it is unhealthy, because of its fine texture. I know what you mean, though, about undoing all the strides you have made in improving your hair by using the wrong styling products. I do have a couple of recommendations. The first product I haven’t used personally, but I like the company that offers a wide-range of products. The company really tries to offer products in the categories you are looking for. I use them often. The hair spray is by a company called Suncoat you can find it at http://www.healthylivingdepot.com. The other product is by Intelligent Nutrients. I am currently using their shampoo and conditioner, and my hair is still doing great after using MM. The only drawback to Ingtelligent Nutrient’s hair spray is it is quite expensive. It is just about three times as much as the Suncoat. The only reason I haven’t tried either of them is ever since I detoxed my hair, and it is healthier, I do not use anything on my hair except the shampoo and conditioner. Once in a while, after I blow dry my hair I may put a little bit, a drop or two, of the MM Euro Oil on the ends of my hair to smooth it out and keep it from frizzing. I get that from http://www.livehealthyfood.com. I hope this helps, Elaine. Let me know what you find and what you end up using. :)

  3. Sounds like someone is getting cases of free product. This product should be pulled from store shelves, it’s horrible. Terrible customer service and no refunds unless you buy DIRECTLy from them……or maybe we should buy into the sell iine of “your hair might be detoxing”…..really now…..

    • Carol Newman says:

Hi Carlie, Just to set the record straight, I have never received any free product. It was a personal decision to try the shampoo, because my hair was falling out. If it did not work for me or I did not like it, I surely would not be promoting it. My reputation is on the line here. I did mention in my review that my hair was weighted down, and I didn’t like it. I decided to follow up with an organic shampoo, of my choosing, and received positive results by combining this method. Of course, this does not mean everyone will achieve the same outcome as I did. Had I not improvised with my other shampoo, I most likely would not have continued using the product.

As far as their customer service, I do not know what company you used, but the company I purchased from has refunded other items I have returned without a problem. Nevertheless, I am sorry you are having so much trouble. Thank you for informing me of your plight. It is important to me to hear the good and the bad.

With some frizzies. I do have hypothyroid an I’m pre menapausely also please let me know your thoughts . I don’t mind spending the money if the product is good an it will help in strengh it an help with the dry/ frizzies.

    • Carol Newman says:

Hi Margaret, Thyroid, adrenal fatigue and menopausal issues. I had all three too. My thyroid medication has finally been regulated and my adrenal fatigue is better. I was taking a supplements to help support the adrenals. I still, unfortunately, am menopausal. The first thing I want to say is, using non-toxic hair products that nourish the hair and getting all the build up off of your scalp and hair is important, but, more importantly, the health issues need to be addressed. Once your health problems are resolved, your hair will ultimately be in better health. My hair was so damaged from all the health issues, but the MM plus and the MSM shampoo from docs best multivitamin definitely helped bring my hair back to health. I used an additional shampoo after the MM products, because my hair felt weighted down after I dried it. When I used doc’s shampoo after washing with the MM flavor for that day it didn’t. Currently I am using Intelligent Nutrients. I really like it. My hair is shiny and has body. Also, it is very invigorating. It wakes me up in the morning. It contains peppermint oil. I use both the shampoo and conditioner.

I sure feel for you. You must be tired a lot. I pray you get everything straightened out. I started taking some additional supplements to help with menopause. I just started them today. Hopefully, I will start feeling human again soon. My sister is a couple years ahead of me with the menopause. She is always forewarning me, lol. Take care! :)

  5. Hi Carol!

Thank you so much for posting this review! A couple of months ago, I started the “no poo” method and did not receive good results, so I ordered MM Apple Cider Vinegar and Shale shampoo along with the Zen Detox. I am happy with the products; however, I am running into the same problem with my hair feeling weighted down and sticky. I know there is a detox stage that comes with using MM products, but I might try using the MM shampoos along with another organic lathering shampoo and conditioner. I am thinking about purchasing the Intelligent Nutrients shampoo and conditioner, I would just like to know to precisely you use it. Do you shampoo with MM first, then follow up with IN shampoo and conditioner? Or do you shampoo with MM one day, wait a couple of days then shampoo/condition with IN?

I would really appreciate your input on this. Thank you!

    • Carol Newman says:

Hi Jenna, The detox stage is terrible. When I first started MM, I was ready to give up. Once I did get through it, I found my hair to be healthier, but I did not like the weighted down feeling either. To answer your question, I used the MM shampoo first. I did use it everyday, and I would follow up with either Intelligent Nutrient’s shampoo and conditioner or http://www.docsbestmultivitamin.com MSM shampoo and conditioner. After I followed up MM with the other products, I no longer had weighted down/sticky hair.

Jenna, please let me know your results after you try this process. Here’s to being beautiful inside and out!
